Steven Fofonoff received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan in 2001. He has since completed a Masters of Engineering degree in Geological Engineering from the University of British Columbia. He is registered as a professional engineer in both British Columbia and the Yukon. Steven is an active of the local Vancouver Geotechnical Society and the national Canadian Geotechnical Society. In addition, he is a member of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute.
Steven has been and engineer with GeoPacific for over 12 years and has been instrumental in the growth and development of the company. He is involved in all aspects of our projects from site investigation, through the design phase and ultimately in the successful completion of the project. Steven’s professional interests include seismicity and seismic site response analysis and the effects of seismic ground motions on soil strength and slope stability. He is also actively involved in terrain hazard assessments, including landslide and debris flow hazards, hazard classification and risk assessments.
