Marian Letavay joined GeoPacific Consultants in 2001 as a project engineer. Today he serves as senior geotechnical engineer with the firm. Educated at the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia, Marian graduated in 1979 with a Master of Science in Civil Engineer (with geotechnical specialization). He is registered as a professional engineer in British Columbia and Saskatchewan and is a member of the Vancouver Geotechnical Society.
He brings over 30 years of engineering experience to the firm gained both in Canada and in Europe. He has worked on a number of projects for residential and commercial buildings, seismic upgrades, deep excavations, forestry, geotechnical hazard assessments, and slope stability analysis. Marian’s geotechnical experience in remediation sites and communication infrastructure has brought an added depth of expertise to our team.
Marian has worked for a number of firms in both the lower mainland and in Saskatchewan prior to coming on board in 2001. Some of Marian’s key projects at GeoPacific have included: remedial excavations, communication towers, varying projects in the Chilliwack-Hope region, and as a member of the Port Mann Bridge temporary works team.
